Mannheim

In April 2014, I decided to settle randomly in a city I didn't know and knew nothing about.

From the window of the train between Basel and Cologne, I spotted the city of Mannheim. So close to Switzerland, yet already so different.

For a month and a half, every day, I explored it thoroughly, on foot and by bike.

I photographed the spaces, the arrangements of shapes, the combinations of colors, the materials.

En avril 2014, je décide de m’établir au hasard dans une ville que je ne connais pas et dont je ne sais rien.
Par la fenêtre du train entre Bâle et Cologne, je repère la ville de Mannheim. Si proche de la Suisse, mais déjà autrement.

Durant un mois et demi, chaque jour, je l’explore de long en large, à pieds et en vélo.

Je photographie les espaces, les agencements de formes, les combinaisons de couleurs, les matériaux.
